The event will feature a distinguished speaker on U.S. – Russia relations, a poetry reading by students of Walt Whitman School, a performance by the celebrated soprano Carmen Balthrop and the bestowing of our Foundation’s award upon Russia’s most prominent contemporary poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko. Mr. Yevtushenko, a gifted performer, currently a professor of the University of Tulsa, will read a few of his poems in English.
