One of the things I always miss about summer when it leaves is a good patio. Willow, located in Arlington‘s Ballston neighborhood, has one of my favorite patios in the DMV area. Surrounded by trees, a railing teeming with ivy and pretty umbrellas, you certainly don’t feel as if you’re in the heart of Arlington’s business district. The patio feels fresh, relaxed and luxurious, just like Willow‘s food.

As the end of the summer harvest is upon us, Willow serves up the best of the market with appetizers like the heirloom tomato salad, cold gazpacho and lush creamy potato salad. Don’t miss the salmon or the stuffed squash blossoms for entrees, and then round out the meal with a lovely peach pound cake.

Not in the mood for a full meal? The bar bites are served on the patio and are tasty menu samplings, plus the wine on special is always an impeccable pick. So grab a friend or a date on a warm day, and stop by Willow‘s patio to get the best out of the end of summer.

Willow is located at 4301 N. Fairfax St., Arlington.
