The Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre continues to celebrate its successful 21st season with two cabaret shows in February that highlight the voices of the award-winning singer/actress Katie Thompson (Signature’s Giant) and the acclaimed Scottish performer Euan Morton (Broadway’s Taboo; Signature’s Chess). The performance dates for Mr. Morton – who has been called “sensational” by The New York Times – are February 10th and 11th, followed by Ms. Thompson and her “shiveringly good” voice (The Washington Times), from February 22nd through the 26th.

An extension of Signature’s commitment to musical theater, the cabaret series provides a distinct entertainment experience to its audiences. Transforming its smaller performance space into an intimate club complete with small tables and candlelight, Signature invites patrons to bring the outstanding wine, mixed drinks, and light fare from its highly praised Ali’s Bar into the Theatre to enjoy during the performances.

Playfully entitling his cabaret performance “Where Have I Been (All Your Lives)?” Morton will be performing standards such as “La Vie en Rose” and “When Your Life Was Low.” In addition, the Obie Award-winner, whose “glorious vocalizing makes you happy to be alive” (The Washington Post) will be giving audience members a special sneak-peek into selections from his upcoming CD, Caledonia – Songs for the Homecoming.

Katie Thompson’s “This Song is About YOU” will feature songs from her recordings What I’ve Done Right, KT Live, and her newest CD, Private Page (due for release in March). Thompson, acclaimed as “a stunner” by Metro Weekly, will also sing her unique interpretations from some of musical theater’s most famous shows, including Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. Special surprise guests from the DC theatre community will be joining Katie for each show.
