In an ongoing attempt to highlight some of music’s finest in Washington, W Washington D.C. Hotel is showcasing an array local groups and acts as part of their W Happening Music Series this summer. With the help of Bright Young Things and ESL Music, Thievery Corporation took the stage at the Great Room ball room this past weekend, instead of the music series’ usual P.O.V. Lounge venue to accommodate for the larger crowd. Tickets for the free concert vanished almost instantaneously and the final headcount rose slightly over 700– the biggest numbers in the W music series to date.
