The tables at the Olney Farmers Market are overflowing these days with a rainbow of fresh produce – leafy greens, black-eyed peas, glistening red tomatoes and berries of all colors. To celebrate this seasonal bounty and to educate diners about the locavore movement, the market has teamed up with Falcon Ridge Farm in Carroll County to host its second annual Farm To Table Dinner on Sunday, September 18 from 5 – 9 p.m.

The evening begins with a farm tour accompanied by champagne and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a  locally sourced sit down dinner under the open sky. Chefs Steven Lukis and Tim Horst from Rosa Mexicano are in charge of the main course (diners choose between a meat entree and a vegetarian alternative), which is supplemented with a chopped salad, homemade pasta, tapas and a decadent dessert buffet. The chefs and other guest speakers will talk between courses about the farm to table philosophy, which should give diners a few ideas for the next time they hit the farmers market.

Tickets are $90 per person or $175 for two. Pick them up at the market, pay for them via the website’s PayPal link or send a check to PO Box 1787, Olney, MD 20830.
