Awards to Honor Region’s Leading In-House Practitioners and Law Departments and their Service to the Community

WHAT: On September 22, nearly 400 in-house counsel and members of the business community will gather for the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association’s (WMACCA) 7th Annual Corporate Counsel Awards. Created in 2005, the Awards celebrate the achievements of in-house lawyers and departments in this region, and their invaluable contributions and leadership in their organizations. Now in its 7th year, the WMACCA Corporate Counsel Awards are some of the most well-recognized and sought-after honors for the in-house community in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and suburban Maryland.

This year, 18 finalists have been named in four award categories:

  • Outstanding Chief Legal Officer
  • Outstanding In-House Counsel
  • Outstanding Law Department
  • Community Service Award

In addition, Frederick J. Krebs, former president of the Association of Corporate Counsel (“ACC”), will receive the WMACCA Corporate Counsel Career Achievement Award in honor of his 35 year commitment to in-house practice, including 20 years leading ACC, “The In-House Bar Association.”

WHERE: The Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner

WHEN: Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.  (Awards presentation at 7:30 p.m.)

TICKETS: Individual tickets are $25 for WMACCA/ACC members, $50 for in-house counsel non-members, and $100 for all other attendees.
