By Tyler Sullivan

Georgetown Cupcake sisters Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne.

Sisters Katherine Kallanis and Sophie LaMontagne, founders of Georgetown Cupcake – the district’s first cupcakery – got intimate and personal last Friday, November 11  in the return of DC Cupcakes, their hit TLC series, with an exclusive showing of Katherine’s “My Sweet Wedding.”

The one-hour special was preceded by Katherine’s very own episode of “Say Yes To The Dress”which went behind the scenes on the planning of her wedding, the selection of her dress, and her sister’s ingenious and sneaky planning to make the big day absolutely perfect.

Celebrity planner Sharon Sacks worked closely with Katherine and her sister in preparing the black-tie event, which was flooded with cupcakes, flowers and a Vera Wang lace and tulle gown, complete with swirling pleated organza; not to mention Sophie’s surprise 9-foot tall wedding cake made entirely of cupcakes – 5,000 to be exact.

The DC sister’s California wedding just happened to also coincide with the arrival of a whole new season of crazy cupcake fun.
