Ladurée Georgetown

Head to the Georgetown location of the French luxury bakery and sweets maker for premier double-decker macaron delights. To celebrate Mother’s Day, , head of pastry creations at Laduree, will have innovative new floral and sweet combinations such as a poppy flower pastry ($45, serves six), gift box of six macarons ($24), poppy ice cream topped with a macaron shell ($8.50) and two limited edition macaron flavors – strawberry poppy and Carla lavender ($2.80 per piece). The seasonally-inspired macarons, pastries and ice cream will be available for a limited time, with four special offerings for Mother’s Day. A special brunch on May 13 will offer a sweet and savory brunch fare with champagne, wine or cocktails from Laduree’s recently launched libations menu.

SOULEX Float Spa

Executive Chef will serve up a three-course prix fixe menu ($50 per person) at RARE Steakhouse and Tavern. The meal begins with a choice of chocolate brioche, local pork country pate, RARE’s crowd-favorite ham & cheese curds or other sweet and savory options. For the main course, choose from petite filet mignon with confit tomato and crispy potato dauphine, lemon soufflé pancakes, a slow-cooked stuffed leg of lamb with sweet potato hash and fried egg or house made spaghetti with wild mushrooms and Goot Essa Felsa Yehr. Additional a la carte sides include carrots and pistachios, asparagus and mushrooms and spinach with cream. For dessert: try Pastry Chef ’s bittersweet chocolate pot de crème, Almond Joy sundae or key lime pie.

Rosewood 

Head to Rosewood, D.C. ahead of Mother’s day for their Flower-Arranging Workshop hosted in partnership with Multiflor.  Ideal for both gift-making and celebrating, the workshop will be led by a local floral expert and will provide tips and techniques for creating a sophisticated, one-of-a-kind arrangement ($75 per one parent-child group, add additional members for $20 each). In addition to the custom arrangement, the hour-long event will also include two bespoke beverages, a cocktail for parents and mocktail for children. Guests are invited to craft extra arrangements for $45 each.

Head to the Adams Morgan gathering place for added special dishes to its brunch menu for Mother’s Day. The entrée specials for the day will include bacon, leek and Comte cheese quiche; ramp and mushroom quiche or chicken and asparagus crepes. Complete the brunch with cocktails like the Pelo del Perro made with tequila, aguardiente, grapefruit and lime. Or stick with the classic bottomless mimosa option ($15).

Treat mom to a Mother’s Day brunch at The St. Regis’ new Mediterranean restaurant, Alhambra.
