The 12th Annual Best Buddies Ball, held at the Potomac home of Sargent and Eunice Shriver, attracted movie stars Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt among other, athletes and tech industry types who vied with the first family of politics for attention. A couple of the high tech moguls appeared to be a bit star-struck themselves, unable to resist gazing admiringly at two of the model/actresses in attendance. Performers included acrobats from Cirque Du Soleil's newest production, "Dralion" and musicians "Kool and the Gang." Titled "Friendships Through Technology", the ball raised over $1.6 million for Best Buddies which matches the mentally retarded with student and professional mentors. While the event was a financial success many of the more than 900 guests left early. When asked why, one attendee commented that "there was not much room for dignity in the tent."
