Celebrating Independent Filmmakers
Sundance Institute, a not-for-profit organization founded byRobert Redford in 1981, and dedicated to the support anddevelopment of independent filmmakers, screenwriters,playwrights, composers, and other film and theatre artists,hosted a “Best of the Fest” benefit on March 13th at theNational Museum of Women in the Arts. The evening’sfestivities featured a screening of the opening night film of the2001 Sundance Film Festival, “My First Mister”, accompaniedby a panel discussion conducted by the film’s director,Christine Lahti, a VIP cocktail reception and auction.
