The spirit of art collecting is alive and well, and was much inevidence at the third annual Duncan Phillips Award held atthe Phillips Collection. This year the medal was presented toSeattle collectors and cultural leaders Virginia and BagleyWright, who have assembled one of the nation’s most outstandingcollections of contemporary art objects. Guests,including last year’s medal recipient David Rockefeller, SharonPercy Rockefeller, Laughlin Phillips, David and Maggie Cole,French Ambassador François Bujon de l’Estang and his wifeAnne, James and Nancy Rosebush, and Mandy and MaryOurisman, among others, gathered for cocktails at the CosmosClub preceding the presentation of the medal and a black-tiedinner at the Phillips Collection.
