Glickman – Jacobsen Wedding

Toni Glickman and Simon Jacobsen were married on May 6, 2000 in theWest Garden of Tudor Place. The bride is the daughter of Sharon Glickman.The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Newell Jacobsen. The bride wasgiven away by her uncles Norman Glickman, and former Secretary ofAgriculture Dan Glickman.

The ceremony, led by Federal Judge Paul Friedman, was attended by twohundred and sixty guests from around the country as well as Europe. Some ofthe guests included NBC’s Chip Reid, Congressman Ed Markey (D-Mass),Admiral Susan Blumenthal, Max & Heidi Barry, Castlerock EntertainmentPresident Liz Glotzer Jacobsen, and Jon Glickman, President of Spyglass Films.

Immediately following the ceremony, the 21 piece swing band “DocScantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra” played throughout theevening while guests enjoyed a candlelight dinner and dancing.

The Groom was escorted from his residence to Tudor Place by 25 Scottish bagpipers and 35 “groomguards.”

The couple honeymooned in the South of France, and currently residesin Washington, D.C.

Yalof – Schwartz Wedding

Suzanne Katherine Yalof and Marc Alan Schwartzwere united in marriage on May 13, 2000 at Bridgewatersin New York by Rabbi Barry Friedman.

The bride is the daughter of Ina Yalof, author ofStraight From the Heart: Letters of Hope and InspirationFrom Breast Cancer Survivors, and HerbertYalof, who was formerly the president of Macy’s Northeast and is currentlyCEO of Urban Archaeology, a maker and retailer of lighting and bathroomfixtures. The bride’s parents are from New York. The groom is the son of Dr.Arthur Schwartz, director of the glaucoma service of the WashingtonHospital Center, and Linda Schwartz, a psychotherapist in Potomac, Md.

Suzanne, a graduate of Simmons College is the executive fashion directorof Glamour magazine and author of Getting Over John Doe: A Story of Love,Heartache and Surviving With Style.

Marc graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and receivedhis M.B.A. from Stanford University. He is employed as a vice president foracquisitions of the Internet Capital Group, a venture capital firm inBoston. The couple currently resides in New York.

Becker – Aronson Wedding

Ami Ann Becker and Louis Michael Aronson were married on August 27,2000 at the Wayside Inn in Middletown, VA. The bride is the daughterof Maureen Jane Perry, who also served as maid of honor, and Charles EdwardBecker, both third generation Washingtonians. The groom is the sonof Myra and Edward Paul Aronson of Providence, Rhode Island.

The bride wore a Lily Saami dress and carried a bouquet of Ophelias inWinchester. Ami’s six bridesmaids wore orange organza floor-length skirts withmatching tops and scarves. Robin Aronson, sister of the groom served asbest man, while Caroline & Melissa Aronson, daughters of the groom(from his first marriage), served as flower girls. The ceremony was performedby Rabbi Justin David from Adas Israel.

A reception was held at the Inn, a family establishment owned by thebride’s grandfather, Leo Bernstein. Wedding guru Ciss Kolker helpedtransform the twenty–six room Inn into a California-style celebration. Twohundred and twenty-five guests were in attendance.

Ami, a graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz and a graduateof the masters program at Hadassah Hebrew University, is employed insocial marketing and philanthropy. Louis is a graduate of Michigan State,and holds a law degree from Syracuse University. He is currently a partner atRuben & Aronson.

The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica. They currently reside in Bethesda, MD.

Gimmel – Daschle Wedding

Jill Gimmel and Nathan Daschle were married on July 15, 2000 at GoodIntent Farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Carol Gimmel. The groom is theson of Sen. Thomas Daschle and his ex-wife Laurie.

The one hundred and eighty guests attending the ceremony witnessed asthe couple read vows that they wrote themselves. Passages from 13th-centuryPersian poet Rumi were also read by the bride and groom’s closest friends.

Following the ceremony, performed by Rev. Keyser, the party moved to acovered tent where dancing continued until after midnight. The couple thendeparted for a honeymoon in Spain.

Jill, a graduate of Northwestern University, formerly worked withSenator Edward Kennedy’s campaign (D-Mass.). Nathan is currently attendingHarvard Law School.

The couple resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Angie Gitelson & Duncan Dixson Engagement

Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Gitelson of Potomac, MD are pleased to announcethe engagement of their daughter Angela Gitelson to Duncan Dixson,son of Georgetown resident Pat Dixson.

Angela, a graduate of the College of Boca Raton (Lynn University), isemployed as a corporate officer in the family business located in Rockville, MD.

Duncan is a sales consultant for Blackboard, Inc., an online educationalcompany in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the University of Hartford.

A July wedding at the Saint Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C. is planned.

Michael – Raymond Wedding

Victoria Elizabeth Michael and Brian Jon Raymond married at CongressionalCountry Club in Bethesda, Maryland on September 16, 2000.The bride is the daughter of Dr. & Mrs. James Michael of Pittsford, NewYork. The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Philip Raymond of MontgomeryVillage, Maryland.

Victoria wore a gown by Cristos of New York. Margarete Ralston, sister ofthe bride and matron of honor, wore a dress by Jim Hjelm along with the fourbridesmaids. The entire bridal party had their hair and makeup done by TokaSalon. Serving as best man was Bradley Raymond, the groom’s brother. Amongthe four groomsmen was Christopher Michael, brother of the bride.

After the ceremony, performed by Rev. Gary Callun, a reception was heldat the country club. Andrea Webster of Georgetown created the couple’s deliciouswedding cake, and Belgian chocolate truffles were provided for theguests by the Leonidas shop in Georgetown. Photography for theevent was done by Neshan Naltchayan.

Victoria, a graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, is theassociate publisher of The Georgetowner newspaper.

Brian, also a Wittenberg University graduate, is employed by IBM’sGovernment-relations division.

The couple enjoyed a two week honeymoon in Paris andCannes, and are now residing in Georgetown.

Priebe – Brooks Wedding

Allison Louise Priebe and Michael Stafford Brookswere married on November 4, 2000 at St. John’s Church, LafayetteSquare, in Washington, D.C. in a double ring ceremonypresided over by Rev. Dr. Luis Leon. The bride isthe daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Louis Victor Priebe of Springfield, Virginia.The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Phillip Ralph Brooks of Meridian,Mississippi.

The bride wore a formal Christian Dior gown of ivory matte satin andguipure lace, with a square neckline and a chapel-length train. She carried abouquet roses, berries, oak leaves, and calla lilies.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner were held at the MountVernon Inn on Mount Vernon Estate, before the couple headed off to the rainforests of Costa Rica for their honeymoon.

Allison is employed in the office of Senator MaxCleland (D-GA) as a staff assistant, and is an occasional freelancetelevision reporter for News 21 in Rockville, Maryland.Michael is a recent graduate of the George Washington School ofLaw, and is currently an attorney with the Center for Auto Safety. The coupleresides in Washington, D.C.

Stroud – Carnot Wedding

Brooke Andrea Stroud and Stephane Carnot were joined inmarriage on June 17, 2000 on the island of Nantucket, Mass. Thebride is the daughter of Dr. Franklin L. Stroud, a prominentpediatrician in Washington, D.C. and Kandy Stroud, a member ofthe Democratic National Committee. The groom is the son of Gaetan andElisabeth Carnot of Paris, France and Geneva, Switzerland, and the greatgrandson of former President of France, Sadi Carnot.

The rehearsal dinner was held at the Stroud residence in Brandt Point,Nantucket overlooking the ocean. The wedding reception was held at theSankaty Head Golf Club in Siasconset. The Right On Band from VirginiaBeach, VA played for two hundred and fifty guests, including many fromLondon, Geneva, and Paris. These nuptials came one year after the coupleoriginally exchanged marriage vows in a civil ceremony in Geneva,Switzerland.

Among those in attendance were Barbara Harrison of Channel FourNews, Ambassador Phillip and Nina Pillsbury, Joan and Maury Tobin, andDr. Nick and Donna Constantinople.

Brooke is a graduate of Boston College and the London School of Economics.Formerly a White House liaison for the DNC, she is currently employed as amarket research consultant in London. Stephane, a graduate of the University ofGeneva, is a portfolio manager at Elliot Management in London.
