| Celebrating Children’s Rights The Children's Law Center held a celebration andbenefit at the Kennedy Center's Roof TerraceRestaurant honoring James McKay, seniorcounsel at Covington & Burling, with the 2002Distinguished Child Advocate Award. Guestsat the October 16 event included Prince RezaPahlavi (who joined his wife Princess YasminePahlavi, a Center staff attorney), co-chairsMariella Trager and Daune McDevitt, Rep. BartGordon, and Kara Kennedy Allen. Also recognized at the benefit were the volunteer attorneyswho work with the Children's Law Center's ProBono Adoption Project. The Center helps at-riskchildren in the District of Columbia find safe,permanent homes as well as the education, healthand social services they need to flourish.
