The indoor balcony of the Patterson HouseMansion, which served as the temporary WhiteHouse to President and Mrs. Coolidge in 1927,was transformed for the Washington SymphonyOrchestra's March 29 gala. The event featuredlive musical performances and a "Music is ourFuture" theme.

Congressional and community leaders,diplomats and social notables were on hand tocelebrate, including: honorary co-chairs Princeand Princess Alexis Obolensky, Senators JoeLieberman, Arlen Specter, Mary L. Landrieu,Chuck Grassley, Dianne Feinstein, and JohnKerry; Danish Ambassador Ulrik Federspieland his wife Birgitte; former GhanaianAmbassador to the U.S. Koby Koomson; andformer Redskin Brett Conway.

Tatiana Gau wore a black-and-white-stripedgown (requested attire was creative black-tie ormusical whimsy, so perhaps piano keys werethe inspiration), and was introduced by WSOPresident Greg Powe as a special benefactor ofthe Symphony through her Tatiana Simone Foundation.

Gala proceeds will benefit WSO's Youth Outreach Programs.
