Bachelors and Spinsters Ball
Washington’s Eligible Elite

Local bachelors romanced some of D.C.’s sexiest spinsters at the annual Bachelors and Spinsters Ball on April 3 at the City Tavern in Georgetown. To put the 300 singles and divorcees “in the mood,” ice luges flowing with Ketel One vodka were set up. For the first time, a very small portion of the proceeds from the silent auction benefited a non-profit organization. This year, the event benefited Citizens Helping Heroes, Inc., an organization that supports official Military Aid Societies that assist military families in need.

“Local companies gave strong support to the Silent Auction, which proved to be a big hit and also allowed us to donate some funds to charity,” co-chair Chris Larsin said. “ We’re looking forward to even more fun next year.” Chris van Roijen has chaired this invitation-only event for the past 29 years (since before some of this year’s guests were born.) This year’s committee included a diverse group of young social singles who danced, drank and dallied the night away.
