The Washington Ballet’s
Spring Gala
No Frumpiness Here
Love was in the air at The Washington Ballet’s annual Spring gala
on May 6.
The beautiful pink and red roses that adorned the Andrew Mellon Auditorium
were a gift from Colombian Ambassador Luis Moreno and his wife, Gabriela,
along with the 400 well-dressed guests made for a beautiful evening— who
ever said that Washington can’t do high fashion! To complete the
night of
love and romance, guests enjoyed an enchanting pas de deux from “Romeo
and Juliet.”
Following the performance, willowy dancers from the company decorated
the
dance floor in sexy Versace dresses in romantic shades of pink and yellow.
Guests quickly joined them, barely taking the time to finish the delectable
dinner provided by Occasions caterers. At the end of the night, actor
Vince
Vaughn (who was in town shooting a movie) made a brief appearance. This
year’s gala netted over $165,000, thanks, in part, to gala chairs
Jaci and
Morris Reid.
