Farewell Party for the Spanish Ambassador
Never Goodbye . . . Just Hasta Luego

Many good-bye parties were held in late spring and early summer for departing Spanish Ambassador Javier Ruperez and his wife, Rakela, including a farewell bash at the couple’s former residence and an intimate dinner hosted by Lloyd and Ann Hand at the Georgetown Club. Ruperez now serves as executive director for the Commission on Counter-Terrorism at the United Nations in New York.

Many ambassadorial colleagues joined Washington’s social set in saying farewell to the couple, who have become an integral part of Washington’s scene over the last four years.
