"The World is Flat" Book Party

March 13th • The Embassy of Jordan

The Event: Jordanian Amb. Karim Kawar and his wife Luma hosted Pulitzer Prize winning author Thomas L. Friedman's launch of the Arabic translation of his book, "The World is Flat." Introducing his guest, Amb. Kawar said, "Tom Friedman's insightful book gives us hope that for a small country such as Jordan where we are investing in education, infrastructure and free trade, we can compete and excel in a globalized economy."
The Scene: Friedman enlightened
members of Congress, administration officials and many from the Arab-American community with his outlook of the "Globalized" world we live in today. He spoke of the connectedness of the world and the digital revolution that has "flattened" the field of human operations in which people interact and communicate.
