Austrian Ambassador Eva Nowotny and her husband Professor Thomas Nowotny proudly served as honorary patrons for the Choral Arts Society's 26th Holiday Concert and Gala at the Kennedy Center. Popular Artistic Director Norman Scribner presented festive Christmas Music featuring mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore and the American Youth Philharmonic. The young musicians particularly charmed the audience who heartedly sang along. Then, 750 patrons, in white- and black- tie and ball gowns, crowded into elevators to dine and dance on the Roof Terrace level. Inspired by golden artwork from Gustav Klimt, this Viennese gala included an elegant Austrian dinner and an international silent auction. Anne Hatfi eld Weir chaired this major fundraiser which brought in $650,000.
