THE EVENT: The American Task Force on Palestine's (AFTP) inaugural gala, "Honoring the Contributions of Palestinian Americans," which recognized former White House Chief of Staff John Sununu; Jesse Aweida, chairman of Storage Technology; and Mujid Kazimi, professor at MIT .

THE SCENE: There was unprecedented security in order to accommodate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who said, "There could be no greater legacy for America than to help to bring into being a Palestinian state for a people who have suff ered too long."
