How can you visually represent climate change? That was the question posed by the CoolClimate Art contest, which urged artists to use their talents for advocacy. From hundreds of inspiring submissions, a panel of judges selected 20 finalists- and then let the public vote to decide the winners. The contest winners were announced at a recent panel at the Center for American Progress, which also underscored the importance of using art to influence public awareness. Additionally, 125 environmental experts were in attendance and reminded guests that climate change should never dip out of our consciousness.

On this night at the Center for American Progress when the winning entries were announced, Anna Soellner, Vice President for Communications, Center for American Progress moderated a panel that included, Danny Goldberg, President of Gold Village Entertainment; author, How the Left Lost Teen Spirit and Bumping into Geniuses; Van Jones, Senior Fellow, Center for American Progress; Shannon Moore, artist; David Ross, Chairman, Masters of Fine Arts program in Art Practice, School of Visual Arts in New York City.
