Rivers Cuomo from Weezer may look like Buddy Holly, but we’ve got a concert full of artists who sing like the epic Rock N’ Roll originator. In honor of his 75th birthday come this December, PBS will be airing a tribute special beginning on December 3 devoted to all songs Buddy Holly, including “Not Fade Away” belted by Stevie Nicks, Lyle Lovett rocking out folk-style with James Burton to “Looking For Someone to Love,” and “True Love Ways” sung by Raul Malo (who apparently has impeccable timing because his dates for an upcoming tour will be announced soon after the airing).

But, for those of us who’d rather watch this tribute live in concert, Raul Malo will appear on December 7 at The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. There’s also a recently released CD (lets just say iTunes album because who honestly buys CD’s anymore anyway?) entitled “Buddy Holly: Listen To Me” featuring artists such as The Fray, Zooey Deschanel (you know, the girl with the awesome set of bangs from “500 Days of Summer“), and Brian Wilson.
