Dance off that huge Thanksgiving feast you just had to the music of Zero 7. (You may remember their single from the popular Garden State soundtrack, “In the Waiting Line.”) A combination of laid-back soul, acid jazz and funk, the tunes of Zero 7 are a good way to end your Thanksgiving day.

The Rock and Roll Hotel, 8p.m., $10

Spend your Friday night with local band, Loose Lips where they will fill The Rock and Roll Hotel with sounds of post punk, new wave, and garage rock. The three supporting bands should make for a nice opening to Loose Lips, and for only 10 bucks, it’s a great deal.

It can be said that John Eaton is Washington D.C.’s favorite jazz pianist. From performances at the White House to a mainstay at Smithsonian’s Performing Arts Jazz series, he is sure to please every ear.

This year’s concerts honor “The Robert and Jane Meyerhoff Collection: Selected Works.” There will be music by Elliot Carter, Lucas Foss, and much more. Arrive an hour before to claim a seat. If you can’t make it to this free event, catch it again on December 2 at 12:10p.m.
