R.W. ‘Jonnhy’ Apple’s take on the classic Bloody Mary cocktail

Bloody Mary- St, Regis

Famed journalist R.W. “Johnny” Apple’s adapted recipe of the original creation for the “Red Snapper” or “Bloody Mary,” as it came to be known, at the King Cole Bar of the St. Regis Hotel, New York. You  can enjoy this famous drink at our own St. Regis Washington.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 serving

1 dash fresh lemon juice

2 dashes salt

2 dashes black pepper

2 dashes cayenne pepper

3 dashes Worcester sauce

1 1/2 ounces vodka

2 ounces tomato juice

1 lime wedge for garnish

Combine lemon juice, salt, pepper, cayenne, and Worcester sauce in shaker glass. Add ice cubes, vodka, and tomato juice.

Shake and strain into highball glass with a few ice cubes.
