The 21st annual Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure® will take place on Saturday, June 5, on the National Mall.
The race is a 5k run/walk, but participants who are unable to make it on Race Day (or simply can’t get up that early) can sleep in for the cure.
Race Day features pre-race activities, entertainment and a ceremony honoring survivors, as well as post-race entertainment and giveaways.
Last year’s Race raised more than .
6 million dollars for organizations in the National Capital Area, and this year, Komen made $6.5 million in grants for education, outreach, screening and support services at such local organizations as Arlington Free Clinic, Food and Friends and Georgetown University.
