The 21st annual Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure® will take place on Saturday, June 5, on the National Mall.
The race is a 5k run/walk, but participants who are unable to make it on Race Day (or simply can’t get up that early) can sleep in for the cure. Race Day features pre-race activities, entertainment and a ceremony honoring survivors, as well as post-race entertainment and giveaways.
Last year’s Race raised more than $4.6 million dollars for organizations in the National Capital Area, and this year, Komen made $6.5 million in grants for education, outreach, screening and support services at such local organizations as Arlington Free Clinic, Food and Friends and Georgetown University.
Join 50,000 other area residents on the National Mall as they come together as a living testament to the power of individuals to impact their community and the world – and work to end breast cancer forever.
