Carolyn and Milt Peterson, the developers of National Harbor, opened up their lakeside Fairfax City home for “Living with Cancer,” their popular annual fundraiser that included a New England lobster bake dinner, live and silent auctions and dancing, to benefit Inova Health System’s Life with Cancer program and the thousands of individuals it supports each year.
The event, which sells out every year, was presented by the Peterson Family Foundation, Bob and Paula Hisaoka and Chair, Mark Lowham of West*Group, along with the Life with Cancer Board of Directors.
Steven-Gishner,-Sandra-GisGuests dined on a veritable feast of New England clam chowder, fresh steamed clams and mussels, fresh Maine lobster, fresh corn on the cob, red potatoes, roasted onions and a sundae bar.
The event raised nearly $400,000, with gifts from The Peterson Family Foundation, Carnival Cruise Lines, Clark Construction Group, LLC, Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation, ManTech International, Kellar Family Foundation, NVR, Inc., Sun Trust Bank, Virginia Run Turkey Trot, XO Communications, Ourisman Fairfax Toyota, Prince William Marine and Rocks Engineering Company.
