Join hundreds on the National Mall for Breathe Deep DC, a 5K walk to raise awareness about lung cancer, the nation’s number one cancer killer, and raise funds for the LUNGevity Foundation on Sunday, November 7. Breathe Deep DC was conceived by Jerry Sorkin, a young Bethesda father of two, who as a non-smoker was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in 2007. Sorkin will chair the event with honorary chair, singer and actress Lynda Carter. LUNGevity is one of America’s fast-growing charities and it is dedicated to raising money for lung cancer research.

Lung cancer affects 1 in 14 Americans and kills more than 160,000 people each year. Registration will start on Sunday, November 7 at 9 a.m. at the Washington Monument and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. – rain or shine. Walkers must register online at lungevity.
