Designer Carmen Marc Valvo and the Everything But Water store collaborated to create Girl’s Night Out for a good cause.

An event to benefit cancer? Incredibly worthwhile. The chance to meet a favorite designer? Unbelievable. But the combination of the two? That’s priceless. No wonder the “Girls Night Out” event at the Everything But Water store in Bethesda was such a smash hit. The party, a night of shopping and cocktails, benefited the LUNGevity Foundation. The foundation, an organization that makes grants to fund the cure for lung cancer-a worthy cause given that the disease affects one out of 14 Americans, was represented at the event by its President, Andrea Stern Ferris, and Vice Chair of its Board of Directors, Jerry Sorkin.
Where does the design part of the evening come in? In addition to the Girl’s Night Out event, Everything But Water is supporting LUNGevity with a long term campaign- and a fashionable one at that! Designer Carmen Marc Valvo collaborated with Everything But Water to design a limited edition t-shirt for the foundation, which went on sale in early November in honor of Lung Cancer Awareness Month. The shirt, a white tee with a butterfly design, is available at Everything But Water locations throughout the country. To celebrate the debut of his design and demonstrate his support of the cause, Valvo himself made an appearance, giving guests the chance to mingle with one of their favorite designers while supporting a good cause. The result? A night not soon forgotten.
