Broadway’s Karen Akers treated guests at a recent Helen Hayes cocktail party to some of her fans’ favorite tunes.

NBC News anchor Barbara Harrison and her husband John Pyles threw a spectacular cocktail party in honor of the Helen Hayes Awards. Guests were treated to extraordinary entertainment with the beautiful song stylings of cabaret and Broadway star Karen Akers.
The fabulous Ms. Akers belted out a few tunes in the couples elegantly appointed salon, including Piaf’s “Je Ne Regrette Rien,” a song well known to Akers’ fans.
Accompanist and bandleader extraordinaire Glenn Pearson played throughout the evening and also joined Ms. Akers for a beautiful duet of “Always.
” Many exciting changes are in store for the Helen Hayes organization over the coming year, with the 27th annual awards upcoming on April 25th at The Warner Theatre and the JW Marriott.
