HONORING KAISER: An evening nothing short of extraordinary was what greeted Kennedy Center supporters as they came out en masse to honor President Michael Kaiser for his ten years of service. David Rubenstein said that his first order of business as Board Chair was to keep Kaiser on for four more years of balanced budgets and superior arts programming. An astounding $2.8 milion was raised for performances and arts education and outreach, as Rubenstein vowed to replace Carnegie Hall as the must stop place for artists. The evening began with a reception on the Rooftop and was followed up with dinner and a star-studded concert featuring Barbara Cooke, opera diva Renee Fleming, American Ballet Theatre’s Cory Stearns and Paloma Herrera, and Brian Stokes Mitchell singing from Ragtime.

GALA ATTENDEES: Sam Alioto, Colin Powell, Jim Jones, Pat Leahy, Wayne Clough, Jeffrey Leeds, Elizabeth Marshall, Carol Schwartz, Christine Sager, Alison Morrison.
