Local media personalities, celebrities, and close friends celebrated one of D.C.’s popular sports reporter Lindsay Czarniak at the sports bar Public, as she leaves D.C. for her newest endeavor, ESPN in Connecticut. Czarniak began her long relationship with NBC 4 as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor when she was hired by longtime sports anchor George Michael in 2005. In her six years on air, Lindsay has moved up in the ranks, garnering her own interview segment “Lunch with Lindsay” and helping NBC cover the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy and the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing. Friday night at Public, those attending the farewell party toasted all of these accomplishments while giving Lindsay their best wishes for her next big career step at ESPN.
