There are so amazing music venue in the world, and according to the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards Washington’s own 9:30 Club tops them all. What prompted the honor? The title is based on attendance at shows, and 9:30 Club has been the world’s top attended club for over a dozen years.

Club owner Seth Hurwitz tried to explain the venue’s allure, saying,“There is nothing like the magic of seeing a band at the club. The audience knows it, the bands know it, and they feed off each other. I just love seeing everybody having those moments.” At 9:30, those moments often include legendary performers – artists from Bob Dylan to Adele have graced the club’s stage.

Congratulations 9:30, we can only hope that the world’s top club continues to be a Metro ride away in years to come. If you want to celebrate the Billboard Award, there’s no better way than attending a show. Upcoming performers will feature acts from Owl City to State Radio, ensuring there’s something for fans of all music genres. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
