Toni Leinhardt is a trusted lifestyle expert and personal shopper specializing in high-end designers, specialty retailers and luxury lifestyle resources. She is the founder of Gigi Creative Talent Agency and co-founder of AisleStyleDC,Washington’s go-to bridal and fashion blog. Leinhardt is full of insider tips on how to make your everyday outfits extraordinary. Need an example? Leinhart thinks every outfit needs an element of surprise – try adding an oversized clutch with a splash of color or pattern, like the one shown above, to spruce up your outfit. Find the rest of her tips, and looks to match, below.

1. Pashminas are boring and expected. Sport a leather jacket instead for an edge of downtown cool. In a pinch, drape yourself in faux fur.
2. Step away from black and jump into color. Pair a tuxedo jacket with sleek pants and a neon, four-colored pocket square.
3. Aren’t you bored with the basic L.B.D.? Try a white tux for women paired with a colored or very subtle animal-print shoe. A simple white shirt tied at the waist with an out-of-this-world skirt can turn heads; just make certain the fit is correct.
