Now that it’s finally June… bring on the festivals, food and fun.
By Aysia Woods
After a mixed start to the season, we’re ready to get outside and enjoy all that Washington has to offer. This week, grab some friends and enjoy these recommended events.
Get your fix of crooning saxophones and dazzling pianists who will have you wishing you never quit playing when you were younger. The largest music festival in the city features over 125 performances in various venues across Washington. See well-known artists like Paquito D’Rivera and The Roots, and locals like Christie Dashiell.
Chinese aerialists, Russian acrobats, an improvisational comedy troupe and more collide with traditional circus entertainment like elephants and clowns in this modern twist under the big top.
Missed out on the $22 Dad’s Hat barrel-aged Manhattan the first time it was offered to much fanfare? The Rye Bar is offering another chance with its second tap of the exclusive spirit along with gratis hors d’oeuvres. Cozy up to the bar or settle into one of the leather chairs and sip away over views of C&O Canal.
