Businesses Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

by Rachel Kalusin

Shop your heart out … or hop on a motorcycle to lend your support.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and all over the Washington area businesses are helping raise money for breast cancer organizations. Here’s a list of some of our favorite fundraisers.

KIEHL’S

Kiehl’s LifeRide for Breast Cancer will be riding though D.C. from Oct. 23-25. Motorcyclists will ride from Richmond, Va. to Washington D.C. to benefit the Brem Foundation’s B-Fund. The fund helps pay for patients’ diagnostic tests when the patient cannot afford it herself. Motorcyclists are encouraged to join the ride at one of many meeting spots. Chris Salgardo, President of Kiehl’s will be riding into town with Giles Marini, Katee Sackhoff, and HGTV’s Anthony Carrino for a celebration at Kiehl’s Georgetown on October 25, where he’ll announce a $10,000 donation.

Motorcycyling not your thing? Purchase the Butterstick Lip Treatment duo and 100% of Kiehl’s net profits up to $25,000 from the sale of this set will benefit Bright Pink for breast health education programs. During the month of October, Kiehl’s will donate $1 for every Instagram post and tweet tagging @Kiehls and #KissForTheCure, up to $35,000.
