Jack Gerard, President & CEO, American Petroleum Institute
Gerard’s annual report in January on the state of the U.S. oil and natural gas industry was his swan song. After a decade as head of the powerful trade organization representing the interests of 625 large and small American companies in the fossil fuel energy sector, where he helped dismantle numerous environmental protection laws, he plans to step down from the post in August. Whoever replaces him will continue to exert considerable influence on behalf of oil interests.
