Photographed on the grounds of the Japanese Embassy.

The property’s Ippakutei tea house was built in 1960 to commemorate the diplomatic mission to ratify the Japan-U.S. Treaty of Amity and Commerce. It was donated by the Japan-America Trade Committee, which decided on the name Ippakutei, meaning both virtue and hundredth anniversary.
