New MedSpa on Bethesda Row Gets Your Face Ready to Glow
As we mark the one-year anniversary of the pandemic and the time that we began tailoring our appearances to Zoom video frames, the newest MedSpa touches down in the area to respond to demand for skin, face and body treatments. Call it the self-care “gift of confidence.
”
A top aesthetics brand with a growing “tele-aesthetics” platform to offer virtual consultations, Ideal Image is quickly accelerating its footprint. Open now on Bethesda Row (4930 Elm Street) close to Lululemon, Sweetgreen and the Apple store, two additional clinics are set to open this spring in Fairfax and in Gaithersburg and offer services such as Laser hair removal, body contouring and fat removal, as well as wrinkle relaxers like Botox and more.
Even before the pandemic, Ideal image saw double-digit growth between 2018 and 2020. Then Covid hit and a “Zoom boom” triggered a surge in aesthetic medical procedures.
CEO David Prokupek indicated that revenue in the second half of 2020 increased by nearly 15 percent each month, which, he said, demonstrated that “guests were ready and excited to invest in their self-care.
” As vaccines are rolling out, and socializing face-to-face is on the upswing, the trend isn’t slowing down.
What seems to be boosting the surge is the direct-to-consumer tele- aesthetics that provides virtual consultations, allowing guests to speak with aesthetics specialists from home and then receive services at a clinic. Prokupek said that their fastest growing service segment has been in non-invasive fat reduction services which is up 80 percent over last year.
For those slow to the “innovative beauty” movement, Ideal Image is making it more enticing with promotions such as half off ‘CoolSculpting’ services and 0 off select facial fillers.
And for the regulars, the company has debuted an annual membership for $250 per year (for “year-round VIP pricing”) on popular MedSpa services.
