ART SOIREE – a perfect way to end a busy week in an elegant and
memorable fashion!
You are invited to an exclusive photo-exhibition of works by JULIUS GWYER
Julius comes from a nomadic family of economists and artists. Born and
educated in England, he spent his childhood in Africa and Asia, and
then spent his adolescence visiting his father in the Pacific,
Caribbean and Europe. Julius resides in Washington DC and has worked
at the World Bank for over ten years. This exhibition presents photo
samples from his travels, and portraits of the people he has met, with
a focus on the sense of moment that these evoke. It highlights photos
from his five week photographic adventures in Southeast Asia this
summer, and recent visits to Paris, Nice, Cinqueterra, and Mexico, as
well as few other places, including Washington D.C.
In his travels and seeking out moments, Julius draws great inspiration
from, and shares the spirit and intent of Mark Twain’s famous quote:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things
that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the
bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in
your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover”
