Ever want to see dazzling trapeze artists soar to bold heights above center stage? Or performers swing, jump, and leap to new dimensions, beyond a 24-foot vertical wall?
Now is your chance. Tickets for the celebrated Cirque du Soleil performance, OVO, are on sale now.
By Liz Weiss
Renowned choreographer Deborah Colker integrates dance and acrobatics in a spectacular performance revolving around the trajectory of an insect’s birth and life cycle. OVO fluctuates between bursts of movement and stillness, balancing moments of silent curiosity about the enigmas of life and love with noise and energy buzzing across the vibrant stage.
The performance comprises a variety of stunning trapeze acts and distinct disciplines of acrobats, including banquine, Russian swing, and swinging chair.
The cast ensemble includes 54 performing artists from 16 countries and features internationally recognized Artistic Directors Marjon Van Grunsven, a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, composer, and producer and Luc Tremblay, producer of over 40 choreographic works including La Débâcle, Mirages and Le charme persiste mais n’opère plus for Danse Partou.
OVO opens September 9th for a limited engagement at the Plateau at National Harbor. Performances are scheduled for Tuesdays thru Thursdays at 8:00 p.
