Fashionistas joined together along with Hamish Bowles, European Editor-at-Large for Vogue, on Thursday evening at Nordstrom in Tysons Corner to explore the hottest trends in high fashion for Fall 2010. Before the fashion show started, guests had the chance to sip on cocktails and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, catered by Design Cuisine, all the while enjoying music from DJ Heather Femia. The fashion show started soon after, showcasing fall collections from designers Valentino, Michael Kors, St. John, Dolce & Gabbana, Jason Wu, Christian Dior, Missoni, Versace, and Lanvin. Models sported nude colors, deep purples, ruffles, wool dresses and coats, and of course Valentino’s signature red. Not only were the pieces stunning and sophisticated, but they were practical enough to be worn off the runway.
“The biggest news for fall is longer hem lines, from the knee-length to ankle grazing,” Gregg Andrews, Nordstrom National Fashion Director said. “The silhouette for the season ranges from eased and relaxed to fluid or slouchy. For fall women can expect to see rich autumnal color like classic camel and charcoal, as well as, deep shades of berry, loden, and deep blues. Color can be worn in tonal combination or mixed in new unexpected ways.”
After the show, guests satisfied their sweet tooth with bite-sized desserts while having the opportunity to look around and purchase the pieces that were showcased in the fashion show.
