Do it For Dad
Give Dad a special treat this Father’s Day Weekend, with a DC Metro Food Tour on Saturday,where the high-end cuisine of Georgetown will be highlighted. The tour lasts a little over 3 hours and focuses on the neighborhoods long standing culinary institutions. Dad will be able to try wine, cheese and charcuterie from a market that dates back to 1790 as well as handcrafted beverages from a European influenced coffeehouse.
Pop into Lunch
Drop by 1190 22nd St. NW between 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday for tasty food and treats. Joe Palma, Westend Bistro Chef de Cuisine, is inviting food trucks, Carnivore BBQ and the Cupcake Buggy, for his weekly lunch pop-up to support the Wounded Warrior Project.
Get Dangerously Funny
On Friday night, go see Aziz Ansari, an American actor, writer, stand-up comedian, and current star of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.” Ansari’s Dangerously Delicious Tour is coming to D.C. for two shows at the Warner Theater and will be taped for a comedy special. Come and be a part of the audience.
Be Inspired
4. The World Children’s Festival occurs Friday through Sunday on the Mall, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be workshops and activities led by Olympians, local artists, scientists, and others to promote creativity in children. There will also be performances by children from around the world. Come on out and be inspired.
Meet a Local Author
5. Stop by the National Gallery of Art’s East Building auditorium around 2 p.m. Sunday to hear local author Meryle Secrest discuss her biography, “Modigliani: A Life,” which details the life work of the famous painter and sculptor. A book signing and Q&A session will follow.
