Baseball, C-SPAN and Hollywood dominated the Navy Memorial’s Lone Sailor Awards this year.

The Navy Memorial’s Lone Sailor Award honors veteran seamen who have gone on to gain fame and become successful in their civilian careers. This year’s honorees were awarded
recently at the annual gala, held at the National Building Museum.
The Lone Sailor Award honored C-SPAN’s founder and CEO Brian Lamb, Navy veteran; famed Major League Baseball Second Baseman and Broadcast Announcer Jerry Coleman, Marine Corps veteran; famed Major League Baseball Pitcher Bob Feller, Navy veteran; and Hollywood family Beau, Jeff and Lloyd Bridges, all three Coast Guard veterans.
Past honorees include Arnold Palmer, Yogi Berra and Bill Cosby.
The Lone Sailor Award is given based on respectable civilians who exemplify the Navy core values of Courage, Honor and Commitment.
