President Barack Obama delivers a motivational speech at the 15th Annual Human Rights Campaign Dinner.
The room was filled with inspiration and leadership at the annual Human Rights Campaign Dinner on October 1st.
Held at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mt. Vernon Place NW, attendees were moved by President Obama‘s speech, specifically during a time when the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy is coming to an end. Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese expressed his excitement for and honor in having President Obama, with his “tremendous record of accomplishment for LGBT people,” as the speaker.
The guestlist of the gala was glittered with stars. Guests included international names like actress Sarah Jessica Parker and singer Cyndi Lauper, known Washingtonians attorney Glen Ackerman and photographer Ernesto Santalla and many notable members of the LGBT community.
The Human Rights Campaign is the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, working to end discrimination against the LGBT community. To learn more about the HRC, please click here.
