Sometimes the party has to stop – but only for a good reason. And upgrading one of K Street’s favorite nightspots is one such good reason.  Co-owners David Karim and Alain Kalantar closed K Street night spot Josephine Nightclub and Lounge two months ago to revamp its interior, adding what they feel is a chic new modern decor. The renovation expanded the venues usable space and illuminated the main bar with shades of lavender. Miami-based designer Mark Lehmkuhl was the creative mastermind behind the redesign. He is known for incorporating cutting edge technology and intelligent lighting touches, such as the venue’s new pulsating diamond shaped mirrors throughout the lounge.

To celebrate the re-opening, Josephine Co-Owner Alain Kalantar, Redskin Edgar Jones, Mayor Vincent Gray’s son Carlos Gray, celebrity stylist Paul Wharton, Moet-Hennessy USA’s Michelle Desrosiers, Public Bar Co-Owner Tony Hudgins, One Lounge Co-Owner Seth McClelland, and KStreetKate’s Kate Michael among others made a toast to the lounge’s new design. In addition, Josephine co-launched with Belvedere Vodka’s newest initiative, Belvedere Red. The RED partnership raises proceeds for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Josephine is located at 1008 Vermont Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C.
