Capital Wine Festival hits DC for third year running.

The Fairfax at Embassy Row Hotel, along with its restaurant 2100 Prime, has announced the dates for the Third Annual Capital Wine Festival here in Washington, D.C.
Running January 19 through March 28, the ten-week dinner extravaganza kicked-off with a grand opening reception and feast, featuring the culinary expertise of 2100 Prime alongside a hand-selected sampling of wines.
Each night features a unique menu, crafted by 2100 Prime to compliment each vintner’s unique selection. Showcasing wines from California to Oregon, the festival’s highlights feature bottles from such vineyards as Frog’s Leap Winery, Heitz Wine Cellars, Beringer Vineyards, Argyle Winery, and Cakebread Cellars. Also featured are Martinelli Winery, B.R. Cohn Winery, Cain Vineyard and Winery, and Cliff Lede Vineyards. (All together compiling the festival’s 10 legendary sponsors.)
Modeled after the legendary Boston Wine Festival, created by Chef Daniel Bruce, D.C.’s Capital Wine Festival came out of a national series—moving to New Orleans, D.C. and Berkeley, CA, based off the success of Boston. Today known as the nation’s longest running wine-and-food-pairing series, the festival prides itself on nearly 23 years of over 75,000 bottles of wine, and dishes to match the flavor profile of each one.
Offering exclusive dinners with some of the nation’s most renown wine selections, the festival dazzles sommeliers and novices alike, not to mention the foodie with a love of a preemptive aperitif.
“The Capital Wine Festival has been a successful event in the Washington, D.C. area and we’re pleased to host this event again this year for visitors and residents of the Washington Metro area,” says General Manager of The Fairfax at Embassy Row Stephen Johnston.
