The man who shot the seventies showcases rock n’ roll centric work at the W Washington DC.

He may or may not move like Jagger, but in his latest exhibit photographer Mick Rock proved he has an eye for those who do. With a career spanning over five decades, there were plenty of performers rockin’ the ages in Rock’s aptly titled ROCKED photography showcase, launched at the W Washington D.C. hotel last Thursday, March 1st. Included in the exhibit were photos Rock snapped for the host venue’s own music series, “Symmetry,” which takes place in W hotels across the nation. Over the years Symmetry has featured a broad spectrum of artists and sounds, from the sweet stylings of Ellie Goulding to the more emphatic directives of CeeLo Green. But the headliners of the VIP party celebrating “the man who shot the seventies” were more in line with Rock’s own name; Fitz & The Tantrums and Rob Garza and Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation were on hand to get the crowd doing their best pouts and prancing to the rock n’ roll tunes. By the end of the night, it’s safe to assume celebrant and guests alike were feeling they had, indeed, gotten some satisfaction.
ROCKED will be on display in the living room of the W Washington D.C., located at 515 15th St., NW, from March 2-31. For more information on the W Hotel, please click here.
