Georgetown’s Sip & Sample one-day sale showcases established fashionable brands.
By Allison Priebe Brooks
Old Town Alexandria has its own wildly successful Boutique District, so as not to be outdone this week Georgetown Boutique District will launch its own inaugural event Wednesday, April 18th: The Georgetown Sip & Sample Sale.
The Georgetown Boutique District, a fresh new conglomerate of fashionable brands in and around Georgetown, is hosting the inaugural Georgetown Sip & Sample Sale, a shopping event with markdowns, cocktails, catering by Neyla, live jazz and prize giveaways including VIP tickets to the Virginia Gold Cup and a weekend at The Inn at Perry Cabin.
Jaclyn Mason, owner of Charm Georgetown, created the concept of Georgetown Sip & Sample with a mission to showcase and spotlight established fashionable brands around Georgetown. Mason is a veteran vendor of the beloved District Sample Sale and she wanted to have a special sale while DSS took a one-season hiatus. The event, sponsored by Washington Life Magazine, will bring affordability and accessibility to these fashionable brands at huge savings.
Local Mixologist Joseph Ambrose, the official 2012 ARTINI “Critics’ Choice” winner, will craft specialty cocktails named after fashion icons for this exclusive event with Stellina di Notte Prosecco and Bulleit Bourbon. Exciting prize giveaways will include items from each of the participating vendors, gift certificates to salon and spas in Georgetown, stays at luxury hotels, free tickets to the Shakespeare Theatre, and more. In addition to Washington Life magazine, sponsors include Bulleit Bourbon, Stellina Di Notte Prosecco, St.-Germain, Chouquette Chocolates & Confections, Georgetown Cupcake, Rush Hour Printing, and DC Jazz Fest.
