The Museum of the American Cocktail (yes, there actually is one and rightly so) is partnering with the Kennedy Center to toast Ernest Hemingway in time with Septime Webre‘s visonary “The Sun Also Rises” for Washington Ballet. None other than Philip Greene, co-founder of M.O.T.A.C. and author of the aptly named “To Have and Have Another — A Hemingway Cocktail Companion,” plays host to an evening that’s sure to take you right back to Jazz-era Paris. Ballet ticket-holders get a special discount (bring your stub).

Don’t have time to sample all of Washington’s growing culinary scene? This just might be the ticket. With over 150 wines, some of Washington’s best chefs — including Top Chef alums Mike Isabella and Bryan Voltaggio — this annual food and wine blowout offers the chance to experience much of Washington’s food scene in one sitting, plus celebrate Cinco de Mayo in one fell swoop. And it’s all for a good cause with a percentage of proceeds benefiting Spirit of Hope Childrens Foundation.
