D.C. is known for three things: politics, monuments… and brunch. The ladies of the hilarious and informative ‘Bitches Who Brunch’ blog partnered with Heirloom Catering & Event Design for a Sunday brunch festival at Long View Gallery to welcome the Fall season. Bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas, savory eats, live music, fall fashion and even a photo booth was on the agenda. South Moon Under’s pop-up shop offered stylish buys for a fall/winter wardrobe, and local duo James and Emma provided the tunes.
Gourmet bites by Heirloom were fresh takes on brunch favorites, including Mini Egg Stratas filled with prosciutto & sun-dried tomato fontina; Brioche French Toast drizzled with blueberry maple syrup, whipped lemon curd and topped with white chocolate flakes; Devilled Eggs with Crab and Fennel; and Harvest Calzones stuffed with roasted butternut squash, goat cheese, sage and pepitas.
It would not be Fall without a little bit of pumpkin, and Heirloom did not disappoint with the Pumpkin Pie Yogurt Parfaits. Other sweets included Banana Oatmeal Brûlée; PB&J & Creme Brûlée Mini Donuts; and macarons in passion fruit, blood orange and other fall flavors by Olivia Macaron.
At the cocktail bar, Heirloom’s mixologists served up spiked apple pie cocktails with Bulleit Whiskey; Plum Apple Cider Ginger cocktails and rosemary grapefruit cocktails with Ketel One vodka; and sparkling cava and rosé from Spanish vineyard Juvé y Campos. At the end of the day, guests walked away full and happy, and grabbed swag bags with engraved “Bitch Who Brunches” champagne flutes and other goodies inside.
